Death of loyal horse leads to fundraising plea
AN APPEAL has been launched by Bank Farm Riding for the Disabled to help them raise money for a new horse after their long serving pony Swede died this month. Chestnut coloured horse Swede had worked at the centre, in Bellingdon, Chesham for 17 years helping countless children achieve good balance, co-ordination and confidence. But after suffering a very short illness he had to be put down on Thursday, April 8. Kay Cullen, trustee, said: Swede was everyones friend, he loved the attention and cuddles and would just stand there for hours enjoying every moment of it. Apart from his RDA work he has been loaned by many children and enjoyed pony club and jumping at local shows often winning best turned out pony and achieving many clear rounds - just not against the clock as Swede would only go as fast as Swede wanted to go. The RDA group offer their services every Saturday to children from under 13s up to 19 with either learning or physical disabilities and need financial help to replace Swede and continue their good work. If you would like to donate please call Anne on 01494 758550.
